It is one of its kind and the first centre providing the best of both worlds – Wisdom of Ancient Sciences and the Knowledge of Modern Medicine integrated in an unique way to offer the best and scientific treatment options.

We practice many Systems of Medicine but mainly include Naturopathy, Yoga, Ayurveda, and Modern Allopathic Diagnostics. Other therapies used are Acupuncture, Acupressure, Reflexology, Magnetotherapy, Chromotherapy, Crystal healing, Reiki, Pranic Healing and several kinds of therapeutic massages.

We have several Wellness Packages and customized Medical Programs to address many specific conditions. We custom design various Programs for most medical conditions – acute and chronic, common or rare and for all age groups.

Our entire focus is customisation, which is person-oriented rather than system-oriented. Our emphasis is on the Prevention of Illness, Early Intervention and Health Promotion.

The aim of PIYAS is not to teach, preach or market ourselves, but rather to create an awakening at mass level that all of us have the potential within us to go beyond stress and suffering, you will not need to learn the art of living from us but rather the NPL on which the PIYAS programs are based helps you to discover and unearth your own latent potentials.

Holistic management includes your body, mind, life, personality, attitude. All our practices helps you to get rid of all the problems and evolve into a positive lifestyle. Holistic management also means that we offer you well designed programs based on ancient wisdom and modern science. Holistic management awakens in you a unique lifestyle by which you can promote, preserve and prevent diseases.

PIYAS is a holistic health and wellness centre which is designed to be a one stop centre for complementary and alternative therapies and one of its kind and the first centre providing the best of both worlds – Wisdom of Ancient Sciences and the Knowledge of Modern Medicine integrated in an unique way to offer the best and scientific treatment options. We understand, diagnose and treat people with a holistic approach. Guidance from Consultants from various fields of medicine may be taken as and when required and treatments designed in consultation with them. Experts from different systems participate, monitor the health of patients and various treatments, which are done by well-trained therapists.

Naturopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare based on a belief in the healing power of nature.  Our body has occult physiology – has awesome attributes of our miraculous self-repairing, self-replenishing, self-sustaining physique.  Nature cure alone acts as an aid to support this natural mechanism of the human body. Nature cure uses an person-oriented approach rather than a system-oriented approach for health and diseases.

Nature Cure treatments are based on the five great elements of nature that have immense healing properties.  There is no role of internal medications or drugs in the nature cure system.  The five great elements of nature and the treatments based on them are:

Earth– Mud baths, Mud packs, Mud Wraps.

Water– Hydrotherapy methods – Baths, Jets, Douches, Packs, Immersions, Compresses / Fomentations.

Air – Breathing exercises, Outdoor walking, Open air baths.

Fire – Sun baths, Thermoleum baths, Magnetized water.

Space /Ether – Fasting (complete / intermittent)

Naturopaths are BNYS degree holders, which is a 5-year graduate course like MBBS or BAMS and have a good understanding of human body and diseases. They are complete holistic health care practitioners, which mean that they can treat the same conditions as a family doctor, including both acute concerns and chronic health conditions.  They use the principles of natural healing to attend to the root cause of diseases.

Of course, we will.  We are happy to let you know that we have started Integrative Medicine (IM) consultations at our centre for the benefit of all who come to us for a Holistic approach to Health and Disease management.  We have observed that majority of the people who approach us come with large files full of multiple investigations and prescriptions (many a times unnecessary) and still unclear / confused about their actual problem.  IM consultation is an attempt to make sense of you and your problems in light of your reports and clinical findings so that a holistic evaluation and approach to your health in a customized manner is possible.  Our aim is to provide you the best guidance in an economical way and minimal or no medications.

We have been asking our patients what they want from holistic medicine in general and us in particular and they have been happy to tell us what is important to them: Addressing the cause of illness as well as the symptoms; being informed about various treatment options; having a balanced approach that recognizes body and mind; an approach that encompasses the uniqueness of the individual; natural, safe alternatives; focused on the whole person; positive; minimal drugs without associated side effects but having access to pharmaceuticals when needed; being listened to in a respectful manner; looking at the big picture; friendly and professional; generating wellness with the help of the patient; offering the broadest perspective possible in a way that supports and educates.

PIYAS is a unique health centre that operates on the principle that “Everyone of us has the inherent potential to heal.  Our Lifestyle, Food, and Attitude can either Make or Break it.”  We recommend – “Do not lose your health and even if you do, regain it the natural and spiritual way.”

Yes, it’s one of the most popular programs at PIYAS.  Our treatment for obesity is customized and is based on principles of dietary modifications, lifestyle change, exercise and emotional management.  Most of the people during treatment at our centre learn to make appropriate lifestyle changes and incorporate in their habit which gives them not only weight loss but long lasting good health. In fact, our track record in weight reduction across all categories has been excellent to say the least.

No.  After a few days with PIYAS, 99% of the people who come to us say “I can’t believe how easy this is.”  We advise you to Experience and Realize. In fact this is one of our aims as also indicated in our logo.

Breath plays a very important role in our life.  It is the connecting link between the inner world of the mind and the outer world of the body.  There are seven levels of existence: body, breath, mind, intellect, memory, ego and the Being.  Meditation works by bringing an effect from the level of Being to the mind.  With the breath we bring this effect to the physical level as well.

Yes. Different types of meditation techniques to suit individual liking and temperament are conducted mostly on Weekends.  An In-House developed and experimented Meditation technique – Shanti Meditation is highly sought after and can be done by most uninitiated persons also.

During your first visit, you will have to register by filling up a registration form.  This will be followed by a detailed consultation.  The naturopath doctor will spend about 30-45 minutes interviewing your symptoms of any health problems you may be having as well as about your diet, sleep, bowel habits, etc.  This will also include a thorough physical examination and he may use the same diagnostic tools as conventional physicians, including blood and urine tests and imaging studies as appropriate.  Based on your consultation, you will be recommended to stay as In-patient for 1-4 weeks duration or as an Out-patient for 1-month, 3-month or 6-month course.

Yes, we have inpatient facilities where you can stay. We have a total of 30-bed facility across three types of accommodation – General ward, Deluxe Rooms (Twin sharing) and Super-deluxe Pent house Room (for two couples).

If your stay is short, we will give you intensive training of 3-4 sessions per day.  You will need to have a minimum of 20 sessions with us.

The treatment may involve wide range of therapies:

  • Yoga & Pranayama.
  • Meditation & Relaxation.
  • Diet counselling with individually customized diet chart.
  • Naturopathic treatments like:

Yes, you can take treatments at home, but it is important to understand and learn the treatments before you do so. Also for people suffering from chronic diseases, it is important to take treatment under direct supervision of naturopath until the physical condition and various parameters stabilize.  Our patients go home with a follow-up plan which is a mix of treatments, diet, and yoga.  This helps them continue the benefits that they have had during the treatment at our centre.

Yes.  But you need to register and have a consultation with us if you are coming for the first time.  Your registration will be valid for a period of 1 year.

Yes, you can take only 1 or 2 sessions of yoga provided you have already completed any of our courses before.

Yes.  Yoga during pregnancy enhances the vitality, mobility, general health and emotional well-being of the expectant mother and also prepares her for birth.  The classes are suitable for all stages of pregnancy for learning and using yoga throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and beyond.

Not at all, in fact, it is most beneficial for these types of physical difficulties which, without attention, can progressively worsen.  We have arrangements for you to practice on the chair or the cot as needed.

Yes, we do have “Mother’s Training.” Program. The objective of this program is to train the mothers of young children to handle common childhood ailments. The program primarily focuses on enabling mothers to give a comprehensive nature cure treatment to their children along with home remedies for health maintenance and graceful upbringing. A Mother who completes the training along with her child is given a diet chart and other instructions at the time of completion of course which helps her to give right kind of diet for different needs and conditions like health and diseases.

Yes. In fact, it is the most popular form of treatment used by Chinese and many other practitioners for arthritis, backache, migraine and many other forms of pain.

Yes, Yoga & Nature cure is best practiced when healthy for maintenance and promotion of Good Health. The Best time to undergo a Preventive and Maintenance program is when you do not need it.

No, this a myth which many of the people carry. But having said that it is also true that fasting of various types (Raw food, juice, water etc.) are used as therapeutic modality for detoxification and hasten healing. Fasting is scientific and is not to be compared with starvation. Every patient who is treated under Naturopathy is not put on fasting.  In fact, there are conditions like acid peptic disease, diabetes, malnutrition, hyperthyroidism, chronic debilitating disorders, where we cannot put patients on complete fast.

The naturopaths examine the patients and only depending on their mental and physical state, blood pressure, pulse and state of hydration, they are put on a particular diet.  Therefore, it is an absurd notion that patients are starved in Naturopathy. Long fasts for weeks together practiced in the past have been given up nowadays and instead of that short fasts and intermittent fasts (weekly or bi-weekly) are more practical and patients can implement easily at home.

If you are coming for the first time, please bring along with you a photo ID, passport size photograph, bed sheet, and a napkin for OP services. For In-patient a list of things to carry will be provided to you at the time of confirmation of admission. There should be a gap of at least 2 to 3 hours after a full meal before doing yoga.

Yes, we do. But our past experience with thousands of people have revealed that they are generally of limited utility especially in disease conditions and we would prefer you to combine it with some Yoga & Nature cure program for maximal and long lasting benefits.

As an In-patient your day normally starts by 6.00 am and you retire for the day by 9.00 pm. The day is occupied with doctor’s rounds / consultations, yoga sessions, naturopathy treatments, diets, healthy drinks, various short practices, prayer, some fun filled activities and of course all of these with enough time for rest, sleep and self-time.
